What should I do with my betta fish when I'm on vacation?
I will leave on August 2 and we will return on August 8. I feed my betta each days, and he is perfectly healthy. I have read that betta fish can survive for long without food. Before I go, I'll do a full water change and I must feed him straight before I leave. I've read really bad things about the holidays cables. I have no body to see him when I'm gone. Will he be fine alone for 6 days?
While it is not ideal, is betta hardy little fish and can survive without food for that time. Feed just before they leave, and then once you get home. While you're away I would have put something in a mesh screen over his home, if there is no lid .. only if he gets scared and jumps out. This can happen and no one would be home to plop him back in. Just something that leaves the air enough to get him to breathe.
