Can a company keep my vacation pay if I permantly lost their jobs?
At my workplace, I was recently given an account of my vacation days I had the IETF. (20) Subsequently, there was a re-structure and I was permanently laid off. I have not received my vacation pay only a pro-rated amount for those months I had worked in years (3 months/25%) Can they do it? They said it was "pre-accrual" and is not entitled to full pay
Sounds normal for me. When the new year rolls around, most businesses do not just suddenly give you 20 days' holiday. The holidays are usually based throughout the year. A company would not want you to just take a month off in January with your vacation. They want you to take it in smaller portions throughout the year. So no, I doubt there is much you can do if they only paid you for 25% of that for three months work.
