What California labor law applies to part-time employees?
I am a part time retail sales associate in California. For the last 19 1 / 2 years I have been accruing vacation hours based on the amount of hours worked in a two-week pay period. I have also been eligible for holiday pay, with some minor restrictions. With only two days notice, all vacation hours accrued vacation pay and was closed for part time employees. The company is based in Minnesota stores nationwide. Is this legal, and I has no use? The company is notoriously bad about making policy decisions without regard to individual stale labor laws.
