My friend wants to use travel playpen / crib as the real thing, is that safe?
Yes, as in using it daily. She does not want a manger, and I think it would be uncomfortable for the long term.
Safe yes, but nasty and plus the baby will grow so long before a manger. Our daughter could not sleep with her in 12 months …. it was just too small for all the moving around she does at night. Same thing with my friend's son, my sister's son and my second friend's daughter. We all stopped using them for another 15 months at the latest and my nephew could not sleep in her by 10 months. Seems like someone is cheap and does not want to spend money …. seriously, they are only $ 100, and most pack n plays is at least $ 75!
