How to choose the perfect holiday gifts for your customers
The holidays are fast approaching and if you're like many, you're still "thinking" about what you can get your customers. Well, time is running out, so here are some suggestions that will make buying holiday gifts for customers a little easier.
1st Personalize it – the customers are impressed with a gift that tells them that you have taken time to learn then.
Is she a wine connoisseur, or is she have a favorite liqueur? Try to give a good bottle of her favorite.
Environmentally friendly? Consider planting a tree in her name.
Gourmet chef? A large apron and potholder set, or a number of cool kitchen gadgets and gourmet foods would be a great gift!
Sports fan? Some season tickets, I will score some points, or maybe some sports memorabilia from his favorite team!
Does she like to eat out? Try a gift certificate to her favorite restaurant.
Perhaps he is big for charity … make a charitable donation in his name. (Comment on this: Be sure to donate to a charitable organization based on your customers' preferences, not yours.)
Crazy about coffee? How about an angle grinder and a big bag of beans?
The point is, personalized gifts tell your customers that they are not just one of the crowd.
If you do not have time to think about a personal gift to each customer, so Think of a gift that you can engrave with each client's name. For example, a nice trip alarm clock, or a brass wreath hanger, or a magnifying glass. Brooks Tone is one of my favorite places for these types of gifts.
2nd Do not forget the card – Be sure to attach a card or letter with each gift, personalized to the client and signed by you. Also make sure to wrap gifts nicely. First impressions count.
3. Avoid "trash and jewelry "- Do not send trinkety type stuff with your logo on them. Though you might consider it" branding "your client will most likely throw it. There are exceptions to this, but in general, avoid any plastic that is less than $ 10 each.
4. Designate a gift Coordinator - If you is a very small company, this could be you. But if you have a staff, consider giving a person to coordinate all the details of gift – from shopping, wrapping paper, to deliver. Client gifts can get complicated and time consuming, so make sure the appointed "Santa" is detail oriented and organized. Assigning someone other than yourself to stand, will ensure that you will not be distracted from the job of building your business.
5. On a budget? Think about giving your customers gift certificates for free products or services (what you sell). If you are a consultant or a service, give them a free hour of your time, or a percentage of the their next purchase. If you own a restaurant, give them a free dinner for two, or a free dessert or appetizer. Be creative!
6. Host a holiday Banquet – Send out a great invitation that has an open bar, heavy hors d'oeurves, some desserts, and you're done. Your customers get to know you better and can rub shoulders with your other customers that all will be singing your praises.
Here are some of my favorite ideas for client holiday gifts:
Gift Baskets - From steaks to wine to gourmet delights, customers love them as much as you do! You can go online to order them and have them delivered. What could be easier? There are hundreds of gift baskets to choose from, one for every budget and taste.
If you want to go more personal, put together a basket filled with some of their favorite things.
Books and Subscriptions - Have you read a good motivational book lately? What about fiction? Your client likes it as well. And if you can get a signed copy so much the better! Or if you know your clients' hobbies, consider giving them a 12-month gift subscription for a hobby magazine or periodical. What I have done is buy a copy of the current item, wrap it and deliver it to my client with a handwritten note. You can also email it, if your client lives out of town.
Massage or Spa Day – One of my all-time favorite gifts was one I got from my creative department of one year. They all pooled their money to get me one day with relaxing massages and pampering at a spa. Your customers will love this idea, believe me.
Provide a thoughtful gift for your customers during the holidays go a long way toward letting them know how much you appreciate their business.
