Christmas Gift Ideas
st Make a piece of furniture. If you are not skilled with tools and stuff, this may be an even bigger reason to build – surprised with your newfound hobby. While the options are endless, the best ideas are usually issues for organizing or storing knick. There is probably a closet in your home that could use a little organization. Why not build a custom storage / organization center.
nd Coupon book. This is an Oldie but still a great personal gift. Depending on the receiver, you can adapt the book. Include service things like breakfast in bed one day with help, and a night off. I suggest that you put an expiration date at motivating the recipient to use coupons. If they have not used the coupon in a few weeks, give them a call and (lovingly) forces them to use one.
rd Make a silhouette image. One year my wife gave my silhouette pictures of my kids. It is still a favorite gift I received. Get a picture of the children and cut out the shape of the head. Use this pattern to cut a silhouette on black construction paper. Just glue the picture to a piece of colored construction paper and throw it in a frame. This is an awesome gift idea for family.
th Scrapbook / scrapbook calendar. Find a picture that has special significance for you and the gift recipient. Neatly and creatively compile pictures in a scrapbook. You can even go to your nearest Hobby Lobby and for about $ 10 to buy an empty calendar. Use your scrapbooking skills to custom design your own calendar.
th Pastries. Your neighbor or boss can just enjoy some cookies from Grandma's famous recipe. They will probably enjoy it more than a gift basket you bought from somewhere.
th Homemade gift basket. Only a few U.S. dollars you can buy a basket. Fill the basket with more of the items listed here.
th Paint or draw a picture. The picture could be a favorite memory favorite place or something sentimental. If you specialize in a kind of drawing or painting, do some personal photos to friends and family.
th Create a CD mix with some of the recipient's favorite songs. You can even put a group of CD's along with favorites from different decades or phases of your relationship.
th Sew something. Kids think it's so cool to have a matching outfit with a parent. Sew mother and daughter a matching outfit. One year my wife made me a sheet of organizing my tools. Fix a favorite piece of clothing to anyone.
th Search high and low for a rare commodity. Use resources like the Internet – can someone say ebay? – You can get your hands on some rare items. This does not necessarily expensive parts. Your grandfather may be surprised if you tracked down that wheel top he always used to play with when he was a child. I think you have to do more than search high and low – a letter explaining why the search is all someone gets is not going to cut it. Search high and low and FIND a rare commodity.
th Organize a family experience. Take the family somewhere very special. I'm not necessarily talking about a trip to Disney. It could even be to take the family to a day of sledding or skiing. How about a trip to the farm for a sleigh ride? Consider replacing gifts with a holiday or family activity. I know a family (grown children) who are not doing any Christmas presents anymore, but once a couple years, they spend that money saved at all meets for a week's vacation.
th Make a hand shape with your children's hands. The good thing about having children, you can fully exploit their cuteness for a ton of awesome gifts. Just buy some clay and let the junior pushed his hand in shape. Any aunt, uncle or grandparents will treasure your gift.
th Homemade recipe book. Collect all your favorite recipes or even recipes of friends and family and give the book to a person who loves to cook.
th Homemade Christmas cards. Here's another that uses children's cuteness to your advantage. Take a piece of paper and have your children leave hand prints (just use a little paint them to dip their hands). Place the prints in such a way that the hand prints can reindeer antlers. Write a heartfelt handwritten note accompanying the letter.
th Make a video. If you're not going to go home for Christmas this year make a video of children playing and say hello to everyone.
th Few friends of the gift recipient to make a book of memories. Ask each friend to write one page of memories. Encourage them to add a photo. Take all the pages and creatively combine them into a book.
th Write your story for adult children with unknown facts. If you have adult children or family members spend an afternoon writing down your memories as a child. Include secular events, the happy events, and yes, even the sad times.
th Write a poem. While roses are red, you may be better off breaking the mold and write something a little more original. Do not write poetry? Get a book on how to write poetry (from library) and follow the format. Some nice paper really helps compliment kind words.
th Send 12 consecutive short (or small gifts) for 12 days at Christmas. Although it may be difficult to time every day for 12 days, just a card or an item in the mail to anyone. Let them enjoy your gift over a period of days.

st Make a meal. You probably have a recipe that others love. Bake a batch and take it to them in the busy holiday.
nd Write a fictional / children's story based on your family. When you write the story using your real names (aliases are great too). If you do not call, ask a friend to illustrate the book.
rd Write a song or drama to anyone.
th Meet some childhood dream.
th Buy a favorite book or movie from anyone's childhood. To make the gift extra special ask their father to read the book to them. Maybe with a favorite movie recreate the atmosphere they used to describe when they saw the movie.
th Break a bad habit for anyone. Throw out something someone hates. Use Christmas as a motivation to finally kick the habit for no.
th Make a special dinner for two somewhere unique – by the fireplace, on the roof or under a tree.
th Have your children take their own wrapping paper – the family will not care what is inside.

th Get a phone card to someone you can talk to them instead of a gift card in the mail.
th Make your own light. It's really not a very difficult thing to do. Just google and type "make your own candle" and you will have one million instructions.
th Homemade cider or grape juice. My parents make their own apple cider and grape juice. These jars would make excellent Christmas gifts.
th Pray for someone. If you just do not have money to use gifts to people, making them a map and explain your situation. Let them know that each day for the next week you will be praying for them, so if they have any specific requests which can tell.
