It was invented first: fans (ie ceiling fans) or plane propellers?
Indeed, Leonardo DiVinci drew the first specs of helicoptors in his many Works. He got the idea down, but was missing a few details to actually invent it. So I guess you could say air craft propeller was before motorized fans in this sense.
